AutCom Webinar - March 2023

Looking Back, Looking Forward: Autistics Share What Worked—And Didn’t Work.

Date: March 11, 2023 @ 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Eastern Time

Description

Maxfield Sparrow, Autistic self-advocate, peer support group facilitator, and author will moderate a panel of autistic adults, who have varying levels of support and accommodation needs, some of whom speak and some of whom use technology to communicate. They will reflect on their personal stories and respond to a series of questions. As time permits, there will be discussion among panelists and Q&A with attendees. Panelists are Jamie Burke, Ivanova Smith, Yasmin Arshad, Sujit Kurup, Gloria Mendoza, and Jacob Pratt.

Questions for Panelists:

  1. Growing up as an Autistic person, what do you wish you had known about your autism?
  2. What are some things people in your life could have done that would have been helpful?
  3. What did you want or need that no one asked you about but you wish someone did ask?

The AutCom 2023 webinar series is aimed at understanding issues, sharing ideas and information, and building connections and unity within the autism community--autistics, parents, professionals, and others--for collaborative advocacy. Together we can all accomplish much more. Finding common ground as we move forward is vital.
